1.0 Overview

Your privacy is important to the IPParalegal Institute ("the Institute") ... VERY important. As an educational institution, maintaining your trust is paramount to us.

This Statement discloses the information practices for the IPParalegal Institute and the IPParalegal Institute web site, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared. This Statement applies to the entire IPParalegal Institute web site. From time to time, we may supplement this Statement with additional information relating to a particular interaction we have with you.

The IPParalegal Institute is a member of Webtrust Certificate Authorities whose principles and criteria are based on the Trust Services developed by the AICPA/CICA. In compliance with Webtrust, areas of the IPParalegal Institute web site system designated as secure (the System) are protected against unauthorized physical and logical access. Personal information is collected, used, retained, and disclosed in conformity with the commitments as set forth in this Privacy Statement, and adheres to the criteria set forth in Generally Accepted Privacy Principles issued by the AICPA/CICA. The System's Webtrust program covers only information that is collected through IPParalegas' web site. Its coverage does not extend to information that may be collected from 3rd party web sites or through software downloaded from our site.

The IPParalegal Institute web site abides by the Safe Harbor framework implemented by the United States Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of information as set forth in the European Commission’s Directive on Data Protection.

2.0 Collection of Personal Information

You may choose to submit personal information directly in a variety of situations. For example, you may want to give us your name and contact information to communicate with you, to provide you with a subscription or a service, or to do business with us if you are a supplier or a business partner. You may also share a description of your education and work experience in connection with a job opening at the IPParalegal Institute for which you wish to be considered. If you tell us that you do not want us to use your information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your request, we will respect your wishes.

Fulfilling your Transaction Request

    If you request something from the IPParalegal Institute, for example, a product or service, a callback, or specific marketing materials, we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. To help us do this we may share information with solution partners to fulfill your request, but only as required.

Personalizing your Experience on our Web Site

    We may use information we collect to provide you with a personalized experience on our web site, such as enabling your browser to interact with our RSS feed should you subscribe to it, or when you subscribe to a newsletter.

Providing Support

This Privacy Statement does not apply to our access to or handling of this information; the conditions regarding the handling and processing of that data is covered by the applicable Terms of Use or other confidential agreements between you and the IPParalegal Institute.

Marketing

    Personal information you provide to the IPParalegal Institute, as well as information we have collected from your web browser, will not be used by the IPParalegal Institute for marketing purposes without your expressed written consent. A prime example of where we may use your personal information would be when we post positive customer feedback in our Endorsements section. We will ask you if we can use your personal information first, and publish it only with your consent.

    We do not share or sell personal information ... period.

    Some of our service offerings may be co-branded, that is sponsored by both the IPParalegal Institute and third parties. If you sign up for these offerings, be aware that your information may also be collected by and shared with those third parties. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with their privacy policies to gain an understanding of the manner in which they will handle information about you if you choose to accept.

    If you choose to "Email This Page" to a friend or colleague - excellent. That's free marketing for us and we won't ask you for anything to do it. We aren't greedy.

Recruitment

    In connection with a job application or inquiry, whether advertised on an IPParalegal Institute web site or otherwise, you may provide us with information about yourself, such as a resume. We may use this information throughout the IPParalegal Institute in order to address your inquiry or consider you for employment purposes. Unless you tell us not to do so, we may keep the information for future consideration.

Use of Information in the Social Media Environment

That is the essence of social media.

Protecting the Rights and Property of the IPParalegal Institute and Others

    We may also use or share your information to protect the rights or property of the IPParalegal Institute, our business partners, suppliers, clients, or others when we have reasonable grounds to believe that such rights or property have been or could be affected. Information for Education & Business Partners

    If you represent an IPParalegal business partner, you may visit an area of the IPParalegal Institute web site intended specifically for the IPParalegal Institute business partners. We may use information provided to administer and develop our business relationship with you, the business partner you represent, and the IPParalegal Institute business partners generally. For instance, this may involve using your information to send you details of the IPParalegal Institute business partner programs. It may also include sharing certain information with other business partners, or the IPParalegal Institute clients or prospects. In connection with a particular transaction or program, we may also contact you as part of customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes.

The IPParalegal Institute does not currently deliver third party online advertisements on our web site but we advertise our products and services on others’ web sites. The IPParalegal Institute does not provide any information relating to your usage of our web site to other web site operators or network advertisers.
